I recieved an e-mail from allegedly Ruud Larry Esq. stating that i inherited a large sum of money and I need to know if this is truelly a scam. The e-mails are about inheritance not lottery so I am truelly confused.

i receaved a letter stating if i were to hand over 25 dollars i would be enterd in to the euromillions with a twelve week entrys my question is is it a scam .

Claimed I had wo $170,000 and sent me a check for $4,290. Check was from First Union National Bank NC. I called bank and is now bought by Wachovia. I was informed check not valid and a scam. The letter did state I had to pay $2900 to pay tax - like duh, why can't they subtract it from the $170,000 that I supposedly won. Very creative and looks legitimate and tempt you to cash check...DO NOT CASH the check!
Please spread the word...scam artists are everywhere. Do not deposit into your account since they will now have access to your account. BEWARE!!!

I want to know if this check for 4,050 to pay for taxes of 2,950 to win 90,050 in a drawing is real or a scam. If it is a scam, how exactly does it work? I called the bank on the check and it is an open account, so the check will clear. If I just cash the 4,050 check and never wire the tax money, what will happen?
