TO TH: THE CHECK YOU CASHED IS COUNTERFEIT. GO BACK TO THE BANK WHERE YOU CASHED IT AND RETURN THE MONEY. YOU WILL HAVE TO REPAY ANYWAY ONCE THE CHECK IS RETURNED. SHOW THEM THE LETTER AND LET THEM KNOW YOU FOUND OUT THIS IS A SCAM. AS LONG AS YOU REPAY, YOU SHOULD NOT HAVE ANY PROBLEMS. ITS A GOOD THING THE PEOPLE AT THE WIRE TRANSFER PLACE STOPPED YOU. YOU WOULD BE OUT THAT MONEY AND STILL WOULD HAVE TO REPAY THE BANK OR WHEREVER YOU CASHED IT. THE SCAMMERS STEAL THE BANKING INFORMATION FROM REAL COMPANIES AND PRINT UP THESE BOGUS CHECKS THAT THEY SEND OUT TO INNOCENT PEOPLE. ONCE THE MONEY IS WIRED TO THEM, YOU NEVER HEAR FROM THE SCAMMERS AGAIN. IT IS ILLEGAL FOR U.S. CITIZENS TO PARTICIPATE IN FOREIGN LOTTERIES. JUST BE THANKFUL YOU STILL HAVE THE CASH. GOOD LUCK

I also received an award letter stating that I needed to claim my winnings of $50,000 by 3 weeks of the notification. I received a cashier's check of $3,654.13 and was told to call once it was cashed and western union to an individual by the name of Linda Duncan 146 St Convant NY, NY 10031. I was able to cash this check unfortunately, but in trying to wire the rest of the money, I was stopped by the store manager who then put an expert on the phone to inform me that this whole ordeal is most likely a SCAM! I still have the money, and am now checking up on this so called Internationl Lottery, Inc. or International Lottery Promotions company. If anyone has heard of them, please respond. When I tried to call them back after asking questions about them, noone answered, the voicemail was full, and it was a T-Mobile phone. Boy, was I bamboozled!

These people think they are really smart. I received something in the mail today. I opened it and I was really excited. Then red flags popped up in my head. So, I did some investigating myself.

There's alot of things that didn't add up. First of all, the check was for 2,962.30 .

#1: The letterhead looked like it was scanned by a printer: (stated)
AtlanticWestGaming
Lotto Claims Department
#4852 Scott St.,P.O. Box 4534, St. John
Antiuga,WI
I looked on the internet and AtlanticWestgaming is a company that has casino sites .

#2: one of the paragraphs in the letter stated and outlined: " Must be deposited into your bank account only to pay for your processing fees and international tax laws that is required to be paid before we can remit your remaining balance to you.

#3: letter stated i had to call: 1-902-412-2945 and speak with claims agent Megan Green .
the area code is from the Prince Edwards Island region (CANADA).

Note: the companys address is in antigua and the phone # given is in Canada . Doesn't match up.

#4: the check: the name of the company on the check:
air-x-changers
P.o. Box 18404
Tulsa,OK
Note: the company air-x-changers manufactures custom-designed engine-driven and horizontal electric motor-driven air-cooled heat exchangers for the natural gas and process industries worldwide.

bottom of the check stated it had an artificial watermark if held at an angle.
Note: No watermark also, the check was more than likely printed on printer paper . 100% counterfeit .

The envelope: there was no return address . the stamp was from canada .

*** The evidence is 100% that what i received in the mail was a scam.

Yesterday I received a letter for the Australian 6/45 lotto giving me 5 individual games in one weekly draw where I could win up to AUD$ 4 million the catch is that I have to send in $10.00. I believe this to be a scam. Also today in the mail I received a letter from the Haplin Data Services The Number Crucnchers staing that I am an afficial Grand Salm Winner and that if I send them $10.00 they will send me all the possible number sets that can win the first prize in the Canadian 6/49 lottery. This information I can get from the lottery corperation free of charge. So why would I send them money. I wouldn't I'm not that dumb. These are scams and sending money or any other personal info will only cause you heartache

2006-08-04 07:29:48 -
is it true that this haplin data services is just a scam?

2006-08-04 02:07:11 -
Just this morning my mother-in-law received a letter from Haplin Data Services in Bundall,Queensland, Australia. It said that my father-in-law, who passed a way some 3 years back had been the GRAND SLAM WINNER of an International Lottery. She knew that he had been playing lotto and was really into joining those things so we thought that maybe it was for real.
Just like the other people's account it also showed a bunch of names with the last person being my late father-in-law's name..it said that it was by elimination that he won. The packet included two post-paid envelopes, one with a return address to Australia, and another that was marked confidential with the instructions to place 500 Philippine Pesos so that they can UNLOCK THE SECURITY code.

I told her not to do something about it until I get to search its legitimacy online and it's a good thing I did!

I am from the Philippines and 500 pesos is not really a big deal if it would mean that we would be winning $100 Million Australian Dollars in return. What I don't like about this whole scam is that it gave my mother-in-law a false hope that she could rise up from the debts that the medical expenses of my father-in-law had incurred on the family. She had gone through enough and the people behind this scam should be caught and punished!

Scam from British Random Lotto

2006-08-03 14:31:33 -
Got a letter from British Random Lotto - yeah 80 grand would be nice but being out of 3 grand would not. Apparently this scam is well know and you will owe your bank the amount of the fake check you deposited. If you didn't enter anything report this.
