My wife received a check from White and Williams LLP and letter from Irish Random Lotto to contact Monica Rogers OF Royal Imperial Financial Group. the only valid info I found on the internet was White and Williams so I called them and the gentleman advised me that it indeed was a hoax and sugested I tear the check up. they now have a "lotto hoax warning" posted on their web site.

I received a letter yesterday along with a cashier's check. To read all of the stories that sound so much like my own, it is very scary. I am just glad that my trust and my spirit have been shattered so many times as to make me senical and non trusting. I wasn't to quick to rejoice about it.

I received a check in the amount of $4,975.00 with instructions to a Ms. Stacy Clarke (Claims/Disbursement Agent) prior to cashing. Upon further investigation it was determined that this is a scam and is not affiliated with the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation. I plan to further investigate this through the Federal Banking Commission, The Illinois States Attorney's Office, Canadian Authorities and my local police.

Has anyone been able to retrieve money lost by cashing one of these counterfit checks? I have a client who withdrew her checking account by $2,000.00 becuase of this scam and I would like to hold someone responsible.

I went to the bank this morning. I filed a report with the bank and filed a police report. The bank told me as long as I dont use the money or withdraw it, they will not close my account.
The police treated me like I was stupid...His comment was "do you live under a rock?...How could you not know about this?" This is a lesson learned!
ALSO WARNING TO ALL:
If they dont get the money from you, you may recieve a virus through email as retaliation. (if they have your email) Just be very careful!!!

I received a letter and check from the Irish Random Lotto also. I would like to know if the legal system has ever gotten involved with trying to stop these scams. Has anyone ever contact their Senator or any political repersentative and if so, can they do anything about it? Is this scam a scandolus way to fund some threat aganist the USA. I pray that the hand of the emeny be exposed and everyone get in return sevenfold what has been taken from them by fraud.

Got the same letter and check yesterday. I called the number on the certificate and the lady on the other end told me to deposit the check. I went and did. But today i had to go and withdraw the amount of $2845 and the teller said it is a scam.

Yes I got the Irish Lotto winner letter and check for $3995.30 to be deposited and used to enable me to "finance the international clearance fees of $3,827. There are enough internet postings by similar "winners" to indicate the letter and the check are fraudulent. After reading all this stuff

well i know this might sound stupied but i feel if i can chas this check leave it there for a week or two and not touch it then i'm going to keep it and not sent it to them. i called the bank and used there automated line and found out teh the account is valid(that doesn't mean it's a guarantee) I kept all the papers even the envelope just in case this is brought up again. if there that stuiped to send us a check tha actually can be cashed then i will cash it and not send them anyhting.

I am assuming the check I have just deposited is like a ticking bomb now....just a matter of time and Im in trouble. If I havent spent any of the money can the bank hold me liable for it anyway? I dont see how they could!
