Today I recieved a letter from Europay Investment Inc about a random draw on English Lottery. A winning certificate and a check enclosed AMOUNT $2996.40.
In the letter I was told to contact MS.SOPIA GEORGE OF EUROPAY INVESTMENT INC OF 642 PEARSON STREET SUITE #808 CALGARY, ALBERTA B3J 1J8 TEL: 1-902-412-3406
I CALLED AND SPOKEN WITH SOPHIA AND SHE GAVE ME INSTRUCTION TO BANK THE CHECK AND WAIT FOR IT TO CLEAR THEN CALL HER, SHE WILL GIVE ME INSTRUCTION WHERE I SHOULD PAY FOR TAX AND CLEARANCE TO THEIR DESIGNATED AMERICAN AGENT. SHE MENTIONED THAT THEREAFTER THEY WILL FORWARD THE BALANCE OF THE WINNING AMOUNT TO MY BANK.
CAN SOMEONE TELL ME IF THIS IS A SCAM???

My aunt was contacted by someone saying that he was from International Glonal Payout Service in Jamaica, WI, and that she has a large sum of money coming. However, they wanted $499 for a fee (customs?). She said that she had nly $100, so the man tole her to go and wire it to him. Then a "James Shelley" called her, saying that Mr. Alexander was in prison and that he, James Shelley would be handling her case. The phhone number that he gave her to call is (876)460-3912. (Aren't 876 numbers porno phone numbers?)
Anyway, ahs tole him to call me because I would front the $399 for her. He called me because my call to that number would not go through.
Mr. Shelley did call me, and sounded very calm and convincing. I don't think that I shoud send anything ad my only income is Social Security Disability, and I need it. He told me to wire it Western Union to a Mr. Dane Johnson, Springfield, St. James, Jamaicam WI -- the CEO of their company. I found a company with the same name on the internet, but in Colorado. I told Mr. Shelley and asked if there is a connection. He said that it is the paperwork (?) division of their company....?
PLEASE ADVISE.

Whoever receives this information I woould like for you to know that I just received about 3000 dollars in money orders and they are going to the police department and the police has the email addresses and fake names phone numbers and everything so thank you for nothing. maurita hannah

My daughter received one of these letters as well stating that she was a $100,000 winner of the North Amerian Sweepstakes Lottery that was held
December 30,2005. The letter said she was to contact Ms. Cheryl Adams at [email protected] or by fax 1-250-797-1633. A John Morrison, Promotions Manager, contacted her and of course being broke and naive she fell hook line and sinker. She received the check for $4,975 and of course was told that she was required to MONEYGRAM him $3,600 to cover the taxes. Lucky for her, I intercepted the so called check in the mail and won't let her have it. The name of the company on the check is OLGC Financial Group, Fifty North Street, Memphis, Tennessee 38103 and it says its from Regions Bank. John Morrison contacted her via cellphone last night and asked her if she received the check yet and she hung up on him. Thank goodness I finally got throught to her. There are so many people out in this world just like her. She truly wanted to believe that she really won this money and was willing to take the risk.
Please....lets stop this kind of fraud.

This week I received a letter in the mail with a check enclosed claiming I won a lottery. The check amount was for $4,975.00 and the contact was Leo Parker. I called the direct line. Phone number 1-519-694-2664. The man who answered seemed to be using a cell phone, so I hung up and tried again and got a clear connection. The man asked for my name and had me spell it. While I was talking with him, I was also checking the internet to see if this was a scam. He then asked for my phone number. Before I gave it to him, I told him to hold for a moment as I was surfing the net to see if this was a scam. He became rude and impatient with me saying he wasn't "in a good mood today" and did not "have time for this". I hung up and finally did find this site amazingly showing his name and a connection to a scam.

Then after filling out the needed information I received another e-mail stating that Federal Express was going to send me a cheque, along with other information.
