THE SCAMMERS STEAL THE BANKING INFORMATION FROM REAL COMPANIES AND SEND OUT THESE BOGUS CHECKS TO INNOCENT PEOPLE CLAIMING THIS IS PART OF THEIR WINNINGS TO COVER CLEARANCE FEES. IT IS A RIPOFF SO DON'T BE TEMPTED TO CASH THE CHECK.

i received a check from the north american sweepstakes lottery tellin me i won 49,380 they mail me a check for 2,995us the number 1204-887-5065 the lottery resources management & payment verification 848 holly avenue winnipeg,mb r3t 1w4 the girls name janie fortaz and she told me something about visa has contests and me and 17 others won 800,000 and my cut was 49,380 so im suppose to cash the check and mail the money to her western union or money gram then in 3 to 5 day ill get the 49,380 but she never asked for any of my info or told me to put the money in my account and at that its a cashiers check i think its a scam what do you think

The whole, "you-have-won-a-lot-of-money + check" mailing is a complete scam and a fraud. My husband and I got the same letter - a supposed check for over $2900.00, and a promise that we had won something over $80,000. Since the letter mentioned we'd won some kind of British Lottery, and of course, we had never played that lottery, we knew it couldn't be real. What's dangerous, of course, is that these people get one's name and address correct, and the "check" they send looks real - the one we got was supposedly drawn on Chase bank. We're planning to find out what authorities to report this scam to, so that it can be stopped. Does anyone know?

I received a letter today congradulating me on said winnings of $80,000. My check came from the British Random Lottery not the Irish, but the procedure was the same cash check and send money western union to Judy Jones2077 Dundas St Mississaugua,ONT.l4x1m2. I called the claim agent @ the Royal ImperialFinancial Financial Group, Diedre Gant, but did not give any info except home phone and cell phone number. he agent was as nice as pie and even suggested I contact an atty. I called the company the check was drawn on American Brass & Aluminum Foundry, Inc. City of Commerce,CA. The secretary said checks were stolen and the account was closed and it has been a nightmare for thier company. DO NOT CASH THESE CHECKS. They get cash and you get troubles

I just recieved a letter from the OLGC Lottery resources management and payment verification letter and it said all I had to do pay taxes on a 100,000 dollar win with money from my winnings they told me that all I had to do is send in 2000 of the 2900 dollar check and they would send me the balance in 24hrs how can I check this?
