I receive one of these letters today.
I looked at it, got slightly exited, then a few seconds later thought "wtf? this HAS to be a scam".
I pretty much had it figured out when I looked up the company that my check was written from Precor USA, an exercise equipment manufacturer in the US, what the heck would they have to do with an Irish lottery?
Then I began googling and researching, below is what I found out.
What is going on here is that these people are writing bogus checks on various health and exercise companies accounts (beats me why that certain type of businesses or how they got the account info), they are then tricking YOU into traffiking the stolen funds through YOUR bank account to them with the promise of BIG prizes.
When the authorities come around guess who is in trouble?
Also guess who looses $2000-$5000 out of their bank account?

I recieved this check from the irish random lotto on saturday, and put it in the bank to see if it would clear. it was also from Alside company in ohio. i want to report this to the bank but im scared because, the bank posted the money and said the funds are available and well i spent 300 already. i dont know what to do now.

on July 2, 2006 I received a letter and a check for 2,998.60 stating I was one of 17 people who won the IRISH RANDOM LOTTO for 85,500.00...since there was no return address & the letter came from Canada I was leary, so I took the real looking check to the bank it was supposed to be drawn on(Wells Fargo Bank). It is very bogas!!!! DO NOT DEPOSIT THIS CHECK INTO YOUR OWN BANK ACCOUNT! That is how these people get access to your account & wipe you out. From what the bank has told me alot of people are falling for this scam so BEWARE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i have recieved a letter two days ago saying that i have won a random lotto and a check came with it with the amount of $2,995.30. With that i have to pay the international clearance fees of $2,827.00 to be able to recieve $80,199.00. As far as i remember i haven't play a lotto in 5-6 years. And also i don't think is true because i am only 16 years old. How could that be possible for a teenage young lady to win that much of money.

I just received a letter from Irish Random Lotto dated June 23, 2006 enclosed was a check in the amount of $2,994.35 to enable me to finance the international clearance fees. The check is cut on a Citizens Bank Pennsylvania from the Law Firm of White and Williams LLP Counselors at Law at 1800 One Liberty Place Phildephia Tel 866-859-8352. I pulled them up on the internet and they appear to be legitimate. The Authorized Signature on the account is that of a Robert O Ranger. I left a voice mail for someone there to call me in regards to the negotiability of the check. Then I went on line and found you. My letter says that I am to call no later than July 14, 2006 claim agent, Betty Jones of Royal Imperial Financial Group the area code 306 880-2485 when I checked that is in Saskatuwan, Canada. I looked up Royal Imperial Financial Group on the net and found nothing under business' listed anywhere. The check has not expiration date, no endorsement restrictions yet I am to call Betty Jones for The activation and Authorisation of my check.
