I have currently been going back and forth with a "lottery" in the UK. I'm suposed to send them the sum of $500.00 US to cover insurace and what not. I recieved an email saying that i have won the UK lottery the sum that i won was about 200,000 pounds or about $500,000 US. I am very skeptical of everything. I'm not sure if this is for real or a scam. I got one email from Dr Williams Parker (ukclaimsunit29@hotmail.com) and then i was told to contact royalpost9@yahoo.co.uk for more information of how to recieve payment and what not. I am told to send the money to a Mrs Rose peterson at Unit 11, Ashford Industrial Estate, TW15 1AU, London, united Kingdom. I need to know if this is a scam. I'm lead to believe that it isn't they sent me a scanned copy of his passport and a scanned copy of the certificate of my "winnings". please help me find out if this is a scam or not. I can not afford to waste the money if it is a scam

Approximately 1,532 mail pieces offered a prize in the American Powerball Lottery for a $15 fee, payable to Haplin Data Services at PO Box 1313, Runaway Bay, Queensland, Australia 4216. Postal Inspectors sent a Declaration of Non-Mailability to the Postal Service’s Law Department and, on July 13, 2005, the U.S. Postal Service’s Chief Counsel for Customer Protection issued a Determination of Non-Mailability. A mail destruction order in September 2005 directed that the mail be destroyed after the mailer failed to respond within the specified 45-day period. Postal Inspectors anticipated that more than 227,000 additional pieces of seized mail, on hold at the Carson International Mail Center, would also be destroyed. The amount of illegal lottery mail seized and held in Los Angeles in FY 2005 totaled approximately 358,000 pieces

My wife recieved a notification from Haplan Data Services Locked Bag 32 Bundall, QLD 4217, Australia. Stating she's a grand slam winner and to send Rs.500/-
in another envelope which was enclosed along with the envelope declaring the winning of the "Guaranteed Indian Thunderball Winning Number Allocation Program"

From looking at this site, it appears to be a scam. I think the persons behind this should be identified and under the course of law...

Wondering how many people would have lost money in such scams...

2008-02-28 10:05:36 -
I need to know if there is a scam for "official grand slam winner for the "guartanteed indian thunderball winning number allocation program.

Auditing and Accounting Unit Foreign Operations Department Credit Bank Benin, Cotonou Branch Republic of Benin. My Dear, I am Dr.Anthony Mogbo,The Auditor in charge of Foreign Remmitance Department of Credit Bank Benin in the Commercial city of Cotonou,Benin Republic. This is a very confidential proposition for you.On Sept 21st 2003,an Importer of Textiles and Automobiles for the past Thirteen years,Mr.Morris Thompson made a numbered time (Fixed) Deposit for twelve calendar months, valued at US$12.7musd( Twelve million seven hundred thousand United States Dollars) in my branch. Upon maturity on Sept 20th 2004 as his Credit Officer,I sent a routine notification to his forwarding address but got no reply. After a month,we sent a reminder and finally I discovered from his employees, that Mr.Morris Thompson was one of the passengers who died with his entire family in the ill-fated plane crash involving a boeing 727 UTA Chartered Flight that took off from Cotonou Benin Republic and crashed into Atlantic Ocean on thursday 25th December 2003. For further details of the Plane Crash,Please Visit http://www.cnn.com/2003/WORLD/africa/12/26/benin.crash/index.html Further investigations, and all attempts to trace his next of kin was fruitless.Again,I made further investigation and discovered that Mr.Morris Thompson did not declare any next of kin or relations in all his official documents, including his Bank Deposit paper work in my Bank. This sum of US$12.7 million USD is still sitting in my Bank no one will ever come forward to claim it.According to the International Banking ethics, codes and Laws,at the expiration of 4(Four) years, the money will revert to the ownership of the Benin Government if nobody applies to claim the fund. Consequently, my proposal is that I will like you as a foreigner to stand in as the next of kin to Mr.Morris Thompson. This is simple,I will like you to respond immediately with your full names and contact informations so as I will send to you a specimen copy of an application form which you will refill and send to the bank putting claim over the said balance with the bank as the bonafide next of kin to the deceased. The money will be paid into your account for us to share in the ratio of 45% for me and 45% for you while 5% will be set aside for any expenses that may arise in the process of transfering this fund into your choosen/nominated bank account you wish to receive it and 5% to the motherless and the needy in your country. Upon your response, I shall then provide you with more details and relevant informations. Please send to me your confidential telephone and fax numbers for easy communication , oral discussion and more directives on what next to do. You should observe utmost confidentiality and be rest assured that this transaction would be most profitable for both of us because I shall require your assistance to invest my share in your country which you will be the arrow head of the investment. I must not fail to tell you that this transaction is totally risk free and legitimate. Awaiting your urgent reply. Thanks and GOD bless. Dr.Anthony Mogbo
