Did you notice the order of the routing number, account number and check number? This is not the way Wells Fargo posts their information.

YES! The Irish Random Lotto is a FAKE!!! I received a check for $2998.60 drawn on Wells Fargo as an advance to pay "international clearance fees". I deposited the check and waited several days before verifying with Wells Fargo that the check was good and that it had been paid and cleared their account. After verifying, I withdrew the funds from my account and wired $2845 (plus $100 wire transfer fees) to the "North American Agent". The next day the check was returned to my account unpaid due to fraud. Now my account is overdrawn by over $2500, I have no money for the rest of the month, my outstanding checks are bouncing, I can't access my online banking and my bank (BofA) wants me to pay them over $2500 to bring my account back to $0. To add insult to injury, the Canadian "claim agent" I've been dealing with, Tony Anderson, (780)604-5427, is still answering his phone assuring me that everything is okay. HELP!

I received a letter yesterday from the OLGC claiming I was one of 36 winners of over $9 Million US dollars. Enclosed was a check for $4,975.00. The instructions stated that I was not to cash the check until I had spoken with the agent Ms. Stacy Clarke and gives a directline number. I knew it was too good to be true and I was right. After reading other responses on here, from the exact company my letter/check are from I knew it was some scam.

REMEMBER: If it's too good to be true, it usually is.

Despite all this information provided in these posts, it seems many people still want to believe that "the money is coming" either from the first $3,000 check or the second $85,000 check that is promised if they forward their money. They ask the same question "is this real". And then their need or greed or propels them to try to see if it is indeed real or not. That is what fuels this scam, need and greed. And, yes, hope and blind faith.

But sometimes it helps to look at things through the scammers perspective:

Lets make some estimates and assumptions.

They send out 10,000 lotto scam letters at a bulk mail cost of 20 cents including envelope and letter for a total cost of $2,000. They have a cell phone number and buy a mailing list at some nominal cost.

10 % of people or 1000 of them receive the letters and deposit the check;

10% of these people or 100 of them send their deposit to the scammers which averages $3,000 each;

100 people forwarding @ $3,000 each = $300,000 in scammer collections less $2,000 mailing costs = $298,000.

Repeat the process 10 times and the scammers have made nearly $3,000,000 .

Conclusion: Low cost but high payoff scam.

Also, a great white collar crime with low chance of being caught that pays much better than robbing a bank.

I have recieved a letter and a check stating I have won 2200000.00 that will be shared with 23 other winners my part is 95652.00 in chash but first I was to cash this check they sent me from the maine bank & trust for 3200.00. This was from the Omega British Lottey.

I recieved a letter from Omega British Lottery saying that I won $95,652.00 and also got a check with the letter for $3200.00. They told me to cash the check or deposit it into my bank. After that, I need to send the money to a Margaret Taylor. I am tempted to go to a bank and see if this check is real. I am only skeptical, because I have never even played the Omega British Lottery, or heard of it at that. So today I will see if this is fake (which more than likely is) or see if it's real. Can someone please tell me if you have heard of this Omega British Lottery. I did run a verifiacation on the check online, and the routing number and account is real, but I could not see how much funds were actually in the account. The bank on the check is TCF National Bank, and the company on the check is Goldliger Marketing, Inc. The bank and company are real and I googled them and they both came up. I just don't recall ever playing the Omega British Lottery game. Can someone please let me down by telling me I have been scammed.

I was hit by the scam just today. I knew of the presence of scams out there, a friend of the family was scammed out of around thirteen thousand, and I checked it out thoroughly before I even thought about doing anything with it. Her bank was foolish enough to cash it without verifying that it was real. You get checks from the government and they have to go through clearance and all sorts of things but these scam checks go right through. I tell you, that makes a lot of sense to me, really. The government needs to issue warnings about these things. I know the number of scams out there is very high, but they should at least attempt to keep us safe from these no account, no good people. Sure, these scammers don't blow things up or kill people, but they are terrorists, too. They prey on everyone, especially blue collar Americans who don't have the means with which to cover the amount of money the check is for. Not to mention that the banks have insurance and are covered for their losses. What about us? We suffer and no one cares or will do a thing about it.

I tried to cash my check today, after talking to Monica Brian, for 2998.02. Monica was very nice, and went on and on to congratulate me on my winnings. Looking at the situation now, I feel really stupid. I don't have a job right now, and I am having a lot of financial problems for months I had been praying. So I guess it was like a miracle for me!when I got the check, and the news. I needed to move my mom up here, because she isn't doing to well, and help raise my little brother who is 11.My check was filled with false hope, and they took it from me at the bank. It was very embarrising. I am lucky the police didn't show up! I was sincerly let down emotionally,and faithfully! I play the lotto, so I really thought there might be a chance. I tried to call Monica Brian back, and the phone had already been shut off. I wish there was somthing I could do!

This has SCAM all over it. I'm a Police Officer and someone handed me a check from the Irish Random Lotto for around $3000. I called the Baton Rouge, LA police Dept and they put me in contact with their forgery dept and the invsetigator laughed when I told him what was going on and wondered how much my target was hit for. He told me that the letters are mailed from Canada or Afferica where the mail fraud laws are slack and they could get away with it. He advised to go to the nearest post office and turn it in there to the post master. There it will be investigated and turned over to the proper people to make arrest.
Like people have said "If it's too good to be true... IT IS!!!" Here are helpful links to report the fraud:
