I just spoke to the national city bank. I was told there was not enough money in the account to cover the amount of the check for 4,975.00. My advice to anyone is to call the bank issuing the check and as if the check is good.

I received a letter from Internaional Lottery, Inc. on October 6, 2006. It stated that they had tried to contact me on September 26 but were unsuccessful, and that I was the winner of $40,000. Of course they mention that all Federal and State tax laws will have to be satisfied before the winnings can be mailed out to me. They list thier phone number and hours of operation, but I still believe it's a scam. Some of the things that made me think so was, first of all I'm a stay at home mother of 3 young children (2 years and 8 month old twins), so I'm always at home. Secondly the letter started out by stating: "My name is Peter Johnson, the Prize Director..." but the letter is signed Pter Jones, Prize Director. I am really straped for money and this would be great, but I can't afford to be scammed.

Did anybody else get the same check i got?

2006-10-09 21:45:44 -
I too recieved a letter from the olgc with a check enclosed stating that i had won $9800.00. the check was for $975.00, of which $925.00 was to go to taxes. I did a little investigating and found that this is a scam.
what i found to be quite humorous, was that when i looked at the address on the real olgc website it was totally different than the one on my letter.
I AM THINKING ABOUT FRAMING THE CHECK JUST TO REMIND ME ABOUT ALL THE big time low lifes out there in this world

I received a winner final notification letter from North America Shopper's Lottery stating that I had won a lump sum of xxx.xx. Also inclosed was a check for xxx.xx amount to pay the taxes on the winnings. I am to cash the check or deposit it, get the cash and transfer it to a certified bank draft. Then I am to call the contact person and give them all of my pertinent information. The person will then give me an address to send it to so that they can release my winnings (local taxes being paid by this check I guess). Also there is a deadling by which to do all of this or the monies will be returned to the sponsors of the Lottery. They told me that the names come to them for Target,Best Buy, Home Depot, etc., which I had entered from the store receipts. My question is real or scam?

I recived a letter stating that I had won $86,000 with a check for $3998.75. I of course went to the bank and deposited the check. Then a week later I recived a call from the bank saying that the bank that issued the check is saying that it was a forgerie. I am looking to take legal action upon these people, and would like support from anyone else who got screwed and wants some revenge.

Dear brother and sister!!!

Please do not let yourself trap into this scam called "the British Random lotto Bonanza 2000". I received a letter stating that I was one of the seventeen winners selected in the third category among 1,500,000 contestants. Lies, lies. lies. I thought for a second that God has answered my prayer. Thereafter, my sister and I prayed over the check that they sent me along with the letter. The check seemed to be real, it was in the amount of $ 2,995.00 US. I took the check to the bank and cashed it. While I was going to MoneyGram to send them the clearance fee that they asked for which was in the amount of $ 2840.00, i suddenly had a thought to check this so-called "lottery" on-line and see what will come up. Oh! my God!!! i discovered that it was a scam. Thanks to Jesus who did not let me down...I went back to the Bank and returned the funds. I explained the situation to the Bank investigator and they encouraged me to leave the money into my account just to see in a few days if the transaction will clear. My dear people, 2 days later i saw a payment reversal of the same amount, plus a $5.00 charge for NSF that my Bank charged me. I was so happy that I did not sent the money to this "Henry Bates" in Toronto that they ask me to send the money to. In addition, on the letter they had mentioned that I had to contact my North American Agent by the name of "Sandra" in Calgary and I noticed that the Postal Code for their location was wrong, I called that Sandra and asked her where their company was located, she stated in Edmonton???? I said to her that the letter shows Calgary and she did not know what to say. I just hung up. I know my God will judge them for all the wrongs they have done to people and they will get their punishment. Please be very careful people out there.
