I received a letter today from United British Lotto Certificate of Award with a check for "taxes" in the amount $3,998.75 and once I cash the check I will be awarded $95,000.
This seems suspicious to me, can you please let me know of people with experience with this type of letter.
Apex Financial Management group is listed on the letter and the contact person is Jane Phillips with a phone number of 780-695-1329. Address is 145 Southland Dr. S.E. Suite 204 Edmonton, AB T5S 2T1

I just got this checkandletter in the mail, but mine toldme to contactCassandra Bell of Apex Financial Management Group. This is ridiculous, just when I thought I was gonna be ableto pay off my house, this is bull.

I received a check for $2,993.53 drawn on the accound of Northwest Airlines and a letter saying I had won $95,000. I immediately checked the web and found that Of course it is a scam of the first order. I will probably report this to my local police. Hate to think there are actually people out there who would believe this crap.

Has anyone just cashed the check and had it clear without paying or sending any money back? I would love to just take there money that way if possible.

I am very grateful for the interenet and the people who take the time to write their comments and warn innocent people who might fall into the trap of receiving money that does not exist.I wish there was a way to track these people down and put them in jail for misleading people who receive this and feel that they have won money that they can use to help them out of their financial hardships.I am a single woman working hard in this day and time to take care of myself and I surely do not need people like this who have nothing better to do with their time then to find ways to take advantage of innocent people.
There are many more scams like this out there so remember...if it sounds to good to be true it usually is.Make sure to always do your homework and look up anything you can with the help of the internet.
If we all stick together and keep eachother informed,hopefully these people will somehow get punished for what they are doing to innocent people.
Spread the news to shut these people down.

I too have gotten fooled by these people. Good thing i checked this out first before i tryed to cash it. Had me thinking it was a blessing from the lord. I feel like crap knowing its a fake.

I recived a United British Lotto letter last wenesday April 26 2006 and it stated that I cash the $3998.85 an put it in my acct. then when they clear it send the money to a lady in Monteral Quebec Canada send it western union send only $3850.. and use the rest for sending the money also if western union asks tell them its for my sister in law. Jordan told me not to tell anybody. My bank would not do that Please do something about this I have the ladys name and address were to send the money to. Be carefull out there they said I would recive a $9250.00 check after they recive their money no way.

I recieved a letter telling me I had won $250,000 with a check inclosed for almost $5,000 to pay the taxes with. The tax amt was $2,9oo.I had a phone number to call and the tax payment instructions would be given to me by the tax agent Steve Williams. On Saturday afternoon I called and a man identified himself as Steve Williams told me to deposit the check and then call him for further instrustions. I am very suspicious of this letter and it doesn't feel right to me.So I Started looking for the bank and the company on the check and couldn't find them. Then I found this web site. Do I need to call the law inforcement about this?

I'm so sick!!!! why and how could any one do this? I recvd an offical looking certifiacte from the United British Lotto Corp.saying I and 17 others won 95,000.00 and a check for 2,993.53 for tax and clearance fee. I am to call a Chris Richards with Apex Financial Group. 780-695-1421.I did call and spoke with a foreign sounding man and I asked him "is this a fake or a joke and he said no!! it's real I was to call back in ten min to speak to this Chris guy, I called back and it was either busy, i got the voice mail which was too full to accept any messages. I must have called 20 times today. I will not let this go some how some way there has got to be a lawyer or someone who can help us this is so not right to get some all excited and worked up.. only to find its fraud or fake. I have high blood pressure and am a struggling single mom of 3. some one should truely have to pay. Im keeping everything i got in the mail.. someone tell me what to do....
