When I got my check I was like cool $2,900 buckaroos and some change!! Wow, what a day!! My over-payment for my house taxes and other fees check showed the same day for $1,400 and some change too. I was really pumped!!! About $3,500 on the same day!! Damn, life is good. The second I showed my wife the check she laughed. I was like...uh what the hell?? She said thats a scam, rip it up. We both went up stairs, got online and about 2 minutes we knew it was. There went my bubble I had of joy!! Leave it to a female (again) to break out the pin burst my bubble and bring me back to earth. Damn I love her!!!
Peace out

These checks are a scam. I took mine to the bank and had them verify it. The account is real, but the checks are fake, and if you cash one, you can also be prosecuted for fraud!!!! BE CAREFUL!!!!!!! Report the checks and info to your States Attorney General!

I've showed 12 ppl now how to cash these checks. INTERESTED? Its easy and w/ NO hassles. Ifs its legal or not? Thats questionable? I know it seems to be legal for the "Irish Random Lottery" to mail out checks from companys in the U.S. and they run out of Canada. Its also odd the checks come from different companys in states ranging from Texas, Ohio and Michigan. Still intested? 5 dollars and the instructions are your yours (E-mail me for information)
Thanks Tom Stand

I recently recieved a "check" in the amount of $2996.90 as an assistance to collect a 1/18th prize from the "Irish Random Lottery" Instructions include calling a telephone number for "Activaion and Authorisation" of the check. of the original $85,500 I had suppossedly won, a $5,301.00 (6.2% Sponsor's Commission) had already been deducted leaving me a balance of $80,000.00. Why would a "sponsor" require any commission? I did not sign up for ANY lottery group period so red flags popped up immediately. Why would any particular valid lottery require a Activation and Authorization phone call? If the system were above suspicion, the checks would be immediately cashable, no verification of the check would be required before you could submit it to a bank for payment or deposit.Oh yes, you aren't to let others know about your winning to preclude unauthorized claiming? If in fact, YOU as an identified winner were really valid, no one else could claim your winnings. DUH!!

They use a lot of different names, it doesn't matter if it's the "Irish Random Lottery" or the "North American Shopper's Lottery". If you received a check in the mail from some supposed lottery you never entered it is without a doubt a scam and the check will eventually turn out to be fake. Read the warnings and stories in this thread, or here where we have posted information on it:
http://fraudwatchers.org/forums/showthread.php?t=1746

The ones who should be notified is the US Postal Inspection Service as this is a case of mail fraud. Turn in the envelope, letter and check to them. You can get their contact details from the phone book, your local post office, or contact them through their website here:
http://www.usps.com/postalinspectors/

If you cash the check you may receive the money for it into your account, but the check will still bounce regardless of what they tell you at the counter. And according to the law you will be responsible for paying back the amount, once again regardless of what they have told you at the bank. They may also charge you with check fraud if you can't pay back the amount. Do not cash the check, and if you have, do not spend the money, or you could get yourself into a lot of trouble.
