I just received a letter from the Australian international lotto with a check for $2,993.25 and that this was to cover international costs and that i won $85,000.00 well minus the 6.2% sponsor fee so my total winnings would be $80,199.00. i was wondering what this was about and knew that i did not sign up for any drawings and decided to look on line to see what this was about thank you for all your comments and the phone number that i need to call for information and i will be turning my check over to the police.

My 82 year old mother received a"Certificate of Award " letter from the Swiss Lotto with a check enclosed for $2998.45 which was to cover a tax and clearance fee for a larger amt of money she supposibly "won" the letter informed her she was one of 27 winners of this so called European International Lottery there was a reference# winner# and batch#of course there was no return address just a postal stamp that indicated that it came from Canada. Instructions were to deposit ck then call 613-255-5486 ( which is a Canadian Phone # to contact MR. TONY MILLER OF FALCON FINANCIAL MNGMT GROUP a subsidary of EURO TRUST CORP 145 Southland Dr S E Suite 204 Calgray,AB T2J5X5 out of Canada and they would give her further instructions as to where to send pmt after which they would send the larger amt of her winnings the letter also stated to keep the notice " absolutely confidential" .The ck looked legit and was drawn from the acct of David Sparks and Associates out of Clemson SC. from First Citizens bank, I called this institution to inquire if this was a vaild ck and was told that these ck's were fraudulent and to fax a copy of the letter & ck to their institution. The letter & ck were very authentic There was reference to a Mechele Muphy as being prize director.There was also mention of the NORTH AMEICAN SWEEPSTAKES .Anyone who receives simalar letters should report them to their local law enforcement dept. Additionally we are from PA
