Legislation, legislation, legislation. However, consumers and the general public need to be aware of the types of technology solution they can use to fight spamming, phishing and pharming. Companies like Senforce, Anonymizer and SealedMedia give consumers the opportunity to surf the web without the anxiety of wondering if they are being tracked, recorded and manipulated by keeping there information private. In the long run, consumers will not trust the internet and will vie for getting in the car and heading down to the local Walmart and pay cash for shopping instead of using electronic purchasing via the web which in turn could hurt e-commerce.
