It looks as if Gogebic County and its information technology man, Brad Noren, are one step ahead of state officials in detecting and eliminating viruses in computer systems.
The county's computer system is 100 percent operational, Noren said Wednesday.
The state's system, however, is under attack by yet another virus. "I pulled our connection to them because they are infected," Noren said.
Gogebic County Prosecutor Richard Adams, who is in contact with the state, said many of the state systems (Friend of Court and Department of Corrections included) "were effectively shut down as certain ports on internal firewalls were being bombarded with requests from a virus that surfaced from deep inside their system."
