Computer virus hits SaskTel

SaskTel says one of its computers that contains customer e-mail distribution lists was infected with a virus.

The Crown-owned telecommunications corporation says no personal information about customers was in the infected files.

The Crown corporation also says the virus, known as malware, was not spread to its customers.

SaskTel is suggesting its Internet customers should delete suspicious e-mails and ensure their anti-virus software is updated and working.

Spokeswoman Darcee MacFarlane says they are informing customers that information was on a computer that may have been accessed.
