$15,000 in Internet fraud

Date: June 22, 2007

A single mother cheated social services out of more than $15,000 in part to pay for high-speed Internet and digital cable, a North Bay court heard Tuesday.

Debra Henderson, 45, apologized for defrauding the District of Nipissing Social Services Administration Board, but was chastized by the judge for spending almost $200 monthly for pricey telecommunications services that could be available for less.
