MONTREAL - A 32-year-old Belgian man found in a hotel with a 13-year-old girl he met online, was arraigned in Quebec Court in Montreal Monday on several sex charges.

Vincent Duval pleaded not guilty to three counts of luring a minor over the Internet, one count each of sexual touching, invitation to sexual touching and abducting a person under 14.

The crimes are alleged to have been committed between October 2007 and June 14 2008.

Duval is to appear again in court Wednesday for a bail hearing.

The 13-year-old girl, whose parents reported her missing on Friday, can’t be named.

Montreal police investigators specializing in computer crimes searched her computer hard drive for evidence and discovered hundreds of e-mails exchanged between the girl and the suspect.

After further investigation, police learned the man had travelled to Canada from Belgium and had been in Montreal since Wednesday. The two were found early Saturday in a downtown Montreal hotel.
