There is only one person to blame. The head of IT security!
He needs to be spoken to in "good old English Engineering Language".
1/ His security wasn't good enough.
2/ The site should have had adequate warnings that ANY hacking attack would be met with retaliation without limit.
3/ Then the attackers should have been rooted and fdisked.
I defended a site last year and took down three sites in the middle east that were attacking. the rest hid behind their firewalls and were no further trouble.
Grab 'em by their ba**s and there harts and minds will soon follow!
