MY DAUGHTER RECENTLY APPLIED FOR A JOB ON LINE WITH A ORGANIZATION FROM AUSTIN TEXAS. CONCORDI IS THE NAME OF THE SO CALLED BUSINESS. TODAY AFTER RECEIVING A CASHIERS CHECK FROM THIS ORGANIZATION THE BANK TOLD HER SHE WOULD BE INVESTIGATED FOR FRAUD. IT SEEMS THIS CHECK MAY HAVE BEEN MANUFACTURED ON A HOME COMPUTOR. WHAT I FEAR IS SHE HAD TO GO THROUGH A BACKGROUND CHECK FOR THIS SO CALLED JOB, THIS PERSON HAS LOADS OF PERSONAL INFORMATION ON HER. SOMEONE PLEASE TELL ME WHAT SHOULD WE DO.

I have been contacted by the following company, which tried to conduct a pushpush sales approach for us to buy into a website called Packaging-Technology.com. When the woman Zainab Baruwa (who was supposedly calling from London) first spoke to my husband, she said the cost was approximately $3,000 to be listed on this website, which had a global outreach, but only listed top members of each individual packaging related field. She was calling us re: RFID labeling/machinery. WE HAD TO HURRY UP AND SIGN UP BECAUSE THEY NEEDED TO FILL THE RFID SLOT!
I was directed to GOOGLE and told to conduct a key-word search "modular labeling machinery." This pulled up a page that showed "PAGO" as #4 on the page of listing(a company for whom my husband had served as a US sales rep 20 years ago). When I clicked on PAGO, it was under the sbheading of "Packaging-technology.com", which is the conglomerate listing that was being marketed to us. After talking to this woman for approximately 30 minutes, the price for the service then became $7300.00/year.
I told her I needed to research the idea before signing on; I later could not find "modular labeling machinery" under any of the websites she said would market our company's website, and today, even PAGO did not show up on Google, though I did a keyword search "modular labeling machinery" several times.
When the woman called me this morning, and I told her what I had discovered, she was very nervous, but even more aggressive, demanding that I listen to her reasoning for why I had not found their website on any of the 26 search engines she has said they used.
I have included the information from the email message that I received from them. Good luck.
