Computer fraud this year

In January 2004 losses caused by computer fraud were not so significant since attacks were persistently directed to the large and prominent targets.

All around the world economical damage from computer fraud is estimated about $8,9-10,9 billion that makes up two thirds of all damage for 2003 year. At this view computer fraud didn't exist year earlier, in 2002 year.

Distribution of malware in January 2004 got shocking amounts. Total losses reached $26,8-32,8 billion that makes up 40% of all losses in 2003 year. These losses were caused by wandering variants of viruses left from last year and first steps of MyDoom.
