In a joint operation the U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigation and Russia’s Interior Ministry seized a criminal group that distributed pornography on the Internet, including child porn, Interfax reported Tuesday. U.S. nationals were among the group’s customers.

The group filmed the pornography in the Russian city of Nizhniy Novgorod and sent it to Moscow, where the group’s leader, a 23-year-old Moscow resident, delivered it to the clients via the Internet, the Russian Interior Ministry’s statement says.

Part of the production was delivered abroad, some of it to the United States.

The police arrested the group’s leader and seized the child porn materials that they found at a Moscow office.

“Russian and U.S. law enforcement executives are continuing to work towards neutralizing all the participants of this video porn industry,” the statement adds.

There are 11 more operations to be discussed at the joint FBI-Interior Ministry session in Moscow, including measures against child porn distribution on the Internet, Interfax reported.
