Child porn sentence for ex-Bartlett parks official

A former Bartlett Park District board vice president was sentenced Monday to 30 months of probation and ordered to perform 200 hours of public service -- none involving contact with children -- for possessing child pornography.

DuPage County Judge George Bakalis also ordered Charles Rowe to register as a child sex offender and fined him $1,000.

Rowe, 62, of the 1300 block of Filly Lane of Bartlett, was arrested in 2008 by Bartlett police after he admitted buying a membership in a Web site that provided child pornography, said Assistant DuPage County State's Attorney Diane Michalak.
