A South Boston man will serve 10 years in prison on 153 felony counts of possession and reproduction of child pornography in Halifax County.

David K. Tetterton, 41, was sentenced yesterday to 76½ years with 66½ years suspended after pleading no contest to all the charges in mid-September and being convicted by Circuit Judge Les Osborn.

Yesterday, Osborn said he doubted anybody could not be disturbed by the images.

Samuel E. "Gene" Fishel IV, assistant attorney general in the computer crime unit, said the sentence is one of the harshest imposed in the state for charges of possession and reproduction and sends "the very strong message possession of child pornography means you are going to be punished."

Fishel and Halifax County Commonwealth's Attorney Kim White had asked for a sentence of 51 years.
