Fighting child predators

In an October 16th 2007 press release, McAfee announced that the corporation was giving an award for fighting cyber crime to Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott. According to the McAfee press release, Attorney General Abbott has been responsible for the conviction of over 90 online child predators with an 100% conviction rate. The name of the award Abbott is receiving is the McAfee Cybercrime Fighter Award, and it is given to an individual who has made outstanding contributions to fighting cyber crime.

The award was presented October 16th to Abbott during the McAfee Strategic Executive Security Summit in Dallas, Texas. Dave DeWalt, president and CEO of McAfee, Inc. was quoted in the press release as saying: "What is more important to us than the safety and well being of our children? Attorney General Abbott has been a national leader in the fight to protect our children online, and as a father of three children, I thank him for his courage and determination in going after online child predators."
