The Ukrainian state defense conglomerate Urkoboronprom has signed a contract with the U.S. supplier Defense Technology Inc., regarding the delivery of AN/TPQ-49 counterfire radars for the Ukrainian Defense Ministry.

The contract was signed by Ukrinmash (part of Ukroboronprom), the state company said in a press release.

"TAN/TPQ-49 counterfire radars will provide efficient counteraction to hostile artillery. These devices can immediately locate the area from which missiles and artillery are being fired. The range is from 50 meters to ten kilometers.

The accuracy of locating the enemy's coordinates is up to 75 meters within a five-kilometer range. Modern AN/TPQ-49 radars are in service in many countries," the state company said.
