Tulsa Police Department warns about computer crime and internet fraud.

Beware of Child Porn and Credit Card Scam

We have begun receiving complaints from citizens in which they are receiving Spam email with a Subject line of: Your credit card has been charged for $234.65

Example Email received by a Tulsa Citizen:

Important Notice

We have just charged your credit card for money laundry service in amount of $234.65 (because you are either child pornography webmaster or deal with dirty money, which requires us to laundry them and then send to your checking account.

If you feel this transaction was made by our mistake, please press "No".
If you confirm this transaction, please press "Yes" and fill in the form below.

Enter your credit card number here:
Enter your credit card expiration date:

Citizens should do the following when receiving these types of emails

1. Do not open this email it may contain a virus

2. Do not respond to this type of email

3. If using AOL, click on the Report Spam button in your email window

4. If you have already opened the email, forward it to the local police department.
