
Computer crimes in Ukraine

According to data provided by the IT Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, the ratio of computer crimes to all crimes in IT sphere makes up 10,4%. Among them: 4,2% violated Article 361 (illegal interference with operation of computers, systems and networks), 5,6% violated Article 362 (theft, appropriation, extortion or abuse of office) and 0,6% violated Article 363 (violation of regulation of computer systems use).
Units fighting criminals in the sphere of intellectual property and high technologies in Ukraine revealed 450 crimes in the IT sphere, 242 of which were solved and the rest 72 are currently being investigated.
21 of the revealed and 12 of the cleared crimes fall to violations of Article 361 (illegal interference with operation of computers, systems and networks), 28 and 9 of Article 362 (theft, appropriation, extortion or abuse of office). 3 crimes of Article 363 (violation of regulation of computer systems use) are revealed and 2 of them are under investigation.
