Police say James Heeney, who is 49, was being held Tuesday on $150,000 bond. He faces felony charges of promoting a minor in an obscene performance, importing child pornography and possession of child pornography.

Authorities say Heeney was living at his sister's Colchester home when he allegedly used her computer to view and exchange dozens of explicit images.

He was arrested on the charges Friday and was being held Tuesday at Corrigan Correctional Institution in Montville. He is scheduled to return to Superior Court in Norwich on Jan. 22.

Connecticut Judicial Branch records show he has not yet entered a plea to the charges, and the public defender representing him could not be reached Tuesday because of the New Year's holiday.
