Online poll hacked

Sometimes people go to a lot of trouble to screw up simple things.

This week, the local chamber of commerce offered up its support for increasing the local teacher supplement, a proposal the Alamance-Burlington Board of Education has included in its budget proposal to the county.

So, as we do each week, the Times-News and its Web site, TheTimesNews.com, ran a Readers’ Poll offering a question: Do you support a local supplement increase for teachers?

We figured we’d give our readers the chance to weigh in on this topic, one we figured would get a lot of response.

Boy, did we ever. Typically, we receive between 150 and 300 votes for a normal poll question.
