MILFORD, Conn. -- A Milford man who has been serving a child pornography conviction in Florida is back in the state to face similar charges.

Bond was set at $1 million Wednesday for Lawrence Fulgieri, who police believe victimized children in Fairfield and New Haven counties.

Fulgieri, 31, had a massive collection of child pornography on his home computer and admitted having sex with two teenage boys, one from Stratford and one from Wallingford, police said.

The police investigation into Fulgieri began March 13, 2003, when the department was contacted by a St. Lucie County, Fla., detective serving on a multi-agency Internet crime task force.

According to police documents, Fulgieri agreed to send the undercover officer roughly two dozen pornographic photos of children and adults in exchange for a video of a man having sex with a 7-year-old boy.

Fulgieri never received his tape. Milford police quickly arrested him and extradited him to Florida, where he was convicted on 16 counts of distributing obscene materials. He was in the midst of serving a two-year sentence when he was transferred to Connecticut to face the latest charges.

A police search of his apartment allegedly turned up 653 pornographic photos and 132 videos.

The Milford arrest warrant charges Fulgieri with 132 counts of illegal possession and importation of child pornography. Police do not yet have warrants charging Fulgieri with sexual assault on the minors.
