Greeting card fraud on the Inernet

Date: July 19, 2007
Source: 9wsyr.com

We have a Your Stories Alert related to electronic greeting cards. The FBI says they've been receiving reports of fraud linked to e-cards and online postcards, being sent through spam software.

Like many other internet fraud schemes, the senders of these cards will claim to be a family member or friend, so that you will trust the contents.

The spam-mail will usually direct you to click on a link to view the fake e-card. After you click, you'll unknowingly be taken to a malicious web page that could contain viruses.
