Phoenix police say that Charlton Glenn Ward may have molested more than 100 girls in the Valley since winning parole in January 2003.

Charlton Glenn Ward, 33, of Phoenix was booked into Madison Street Jail late Wednesday on six counts of sexual exploitation of a minor, a felony.

Phoenix police spokesman Detective Tony Morales said Ward admitted to molesting dozens of victims since he gained freedom in January 2003, but police believe many more - potentially more than 100 - may surface over the course of the investigation.

Ward's parole officers went to his motel room in central Phoenix on July 23 to check on him, Morales said. What they found was chilling, he said.

A detective found a book detailing sexual acts with children. The book contained at least names of 40 girls across the Valley.

Officers uncovered pictures of what appeared to be Ward having sex with girls as young as 1 year old and as old as 13. They also found children's underwear and child pornography Ward said he downloaded from a public-access computer at Phoenix Public Library.
