California police are investigating if computer hackers stole a private audio file of Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger commenting on the passionate nature of Latinos, including a state legislator.

Schwarzenegger’s legal adviser Andrea Lynn Hoch said yesterday that an internal audit showed “an unknown person or persons” had downloaded the audio file from the computer system in the governor’s office at the end of last month.

“This access was unauthorised and constitutes a breach of one or more security protocols within the Governor’s Office, which allowed unknown persons to access private files stored in a password protected area,” Hoch said. “This information has been forwarded to the California Highway Patrol for its ongoing investigation,” she added.
