After a little research i have found out that Artur Avertisian has also gone by the name Areg Aivagyan.
In this case he used the girls name as Tanya.
You can find this on the Russian brides black list along with copies of the type of letters he uses.

I was also solicited by a very beautiful women named Arianka or Ariana. The email address was given as [email protected] Initially I was taken in as the pictures of the girl showed a true beauty. However something did not seem right. Lets face it what self respecting 26 year old beauty falls for a middle aged man with two young children after three emails?
I played along with the story for a while asking for information about her full name and address, but nothing was ever forthcoming. Her story was that she was a student paediatrician from Moscow who had fled from her drunken father to live with her elderly grandfather in Armenia. She was desperate to start a relationship with a man from the UK and come and live here. With her looks I was not going to refuse her if she was genuine! The emails bounced back and forth a few times and became cornier with her professing her devotion to me in stronger and stronger terms. I gueseed what would happen next and it came, the usual I need X amount to come and see you but only have half of the amount needed. Rather than send money I offered to travel to Armenia to meet face to face and then sort out things if there was a future relationship. I heard nothing more and guessed the whole thing was a scam. I parted with nothing thankfully but was tempted. I believe that had I sent money then the next part of the scam was for the elderly grandfather to fall ill and need hospitalised etc etc. You know the rest.
The only question I have got like others is who is the girl in the photographs? She is extraordinarily beautiful, is she a model who has had her photographs hijacked or the girlfriend of the scammer?

Just had many e-mails from a very beautiful woman called Ariana who wanted to come to england. Thanks to all who wrote in below to identify this as a scam. I was contactrd through dating direct.com. I was given details to send money to a Avertisian Artur - despite already saying i wasn't prepared to send money. But I have to admit i was tempted.
The address i was given was : Republic of Armenia,Yerevan, Kuznecov street 11,building 16,appartment 24. The e-mail address used was [email protected].
I hope evryone else googles this name b4 doing anything silly like sending money.

I was contacted by someone called Ariana on Dating Direct and was completely taken in at first until the request for money to complete some kind of local visa programme. Out of curiosity I just googled the name Ariana Avetisian and up popped this site. It has confirmed my suspicion. The email address he is using is [email protected] and he claims to be in Armenia.

It would be nice to know who the girl really is as she is rather fetching. J Samson, UK

Update on our lovely Artur Avertisian, seems to have
switched his dating scam focus on England, using
the name Ariana and some very nice photos to prove it
which are not the sort you would expect from a scam.
The e-mail given was [email protected] and the
address as appartment 17, building 20, 32 kasyan st
yerevan.
He strikes again! the address this time though is Kuznecov Street 11, Building 16, Apartment 24 in Yerevan - absolutely identical in every way other than the address - not a great thing to happen to me but realised early on that there was something not quite right!
Thanks to this site though I've confirmed what I had suspected.
Thanks for posting this invaluable information and keep it going.

Hello my name is Dale I am a 40 year old divorced male. Just thought I would take the time to give you the info that was presented to me by this scam. She originally contacted me through an online dating (Match.com) service her online name on this site was xwoman007. She contacted me with the ask me to contact her at her private e-mail address ([email protected]) which I did and the letters that follow are what she sent. I found out her full name being used is Marina Botchkareva and she is from Biysk, Russia. I continued contact until money was requested so i got ripped of 3500 dollars and then told them to no longer contact me as soon as I discovered she was from Russia and an investigation was started. So i lost money because I was not cautious and sent money to someone I did not know. This has been the 5th scammer that I have come in contact with and sent money, I hope this helps warn others of the scams was lucky Dale Gregory

I was contacted on the website Bigchurch.com by Elena who gave her e-mail address as [email protected] I received her letter on July 20 2006. I did not immediately answer her for fear of a scam but curiousity got the better of me.
her name is Elena Kuznecova. Devchonka is part of her e-mail. I had told her that I would go visit her in Russia since I know that it would be very difficult for her to get a visa. This must have thrown her off because it took her a few days to answer back, but she finally did. I hope this helps someone in the future. Thank you very much for this site.

I recently started talking to a woman, she goes by Bella S. She claims to be from Armenia or atleast she is staying with her grandfather there. She has sent me pictures of herself, or i think it is her but after reading from everyone else i don't think it is her. I am not a trusting person so when she started talking about falling in love and getting married and starting a life together i got ver suspicious. So finally when she said that she was gonna go to the embassy to get a visa and passport, she had money for most of it but i needed to send her 720 dollars for the rest. And she told me to westerunion it to her grandfather, Artur Avertisian. I typed in his name and up popped up this great site. So my suspicion was true. Oh and the online dating site was from true.com or truebeginnings.com. She uses a US zip code and claims that is the only way she can contact a nice american man to marry.

he is also using the newer e mail adress
[email protected]
if you look through yahoo mail's option there is a way to report and have them cancel his mail address anonymously.
have done so once already make use of full headers on mail and fill in the information yahoo request.
he fiddles the time-line and uses a proxy server to hide his location, also uses multiple email and real world adresses, do not use western union or other system, and block them from your mail address.
The more i look into this the bigger and nastier it gets,
it is definately big business the images of the girls are likely to be nieces or grand daugthers, and the pictures tend to be all taken at the same day or approximate time, with a canon sure shot or u100d etc
an expensive camera for a poor country i reckon.
Pictures include dogs, cats horses christmas time pictures, dates around 1st jan 06.

I also have had contact with him in exactly the same way as "Smith" In fact the latest contact was today. He reckons the address [email protected] is no longer working and I am to email at[[email protected]]. He makes it very convincing. He has sent me over the past month many pictures of the attractive girl called Ariana he claims to be. The storey he tells of her life is very heartwarming and believable of this 24 year old sweet and lonely girl just looking for love. Lord knows who the girl on the pictures are, the pictures just add to the belief that she is genuine as many are taken at home and look very homely.
I tried to flush him out by sending some flowers to an address given as her grandpa's home however the florist in Armenia couldn't deliver as the address was in fact business premises. The excuse given as to why the flowers haven't reached is that he "doesn't understand" and the florist must have made a mistake and to not bother sending flowers as they are so expensive. He is still after some money to get to England via a "working partnership" that places her in England to study and learn better English languish however the bank details wouldn't be enough anyway which I find strange .
