Trinidad and Tobago remains the engine of growth in the Caribbean but its future is threatened by a lack of adequate cybersecurity measures.

This was the word from a leading cybersecurity expert who spoke at a forum organised by the Information Technology Professionals Society of Trinidad and Tobago at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, Port of Spain on Thursday.

Global Cyber Risk is a US-based company whose main monitoring activities are privacy, cybersecurity, and cybercrime.

Chief executive officer of the company, Jody Westby, said that it was important that Trinidad and Tobago have data protection and effective cybercrime laws.
